Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4 1954. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous distinctions which include a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. She was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. She first came to the attention of an actress in 1974 as she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Along with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara joined Candy in the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). She received the attention of critics both for her writing and acting skills and was awarded an Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
